This morning’s thoughts brought to you from my 6am laundry pile…
The more you put it off, the more overwhelming it becomes. Simply starting WILL relieve stress. The magic that you’re looking for is in the work you’re avoiding.
I’ve had a hard time getting back into the rhythm / habit of folding one early morning load of laundry since the kids are back at school from break. I’ve been going to bed a little later, and my daughter wakes up SO early, that this habit has been squeezed. I’m avoiding it. As a result - problem area has been compounding! Shocking, I know! The problem we avoid compounds.
This morning I tackled it. Even though it meant waking early on a Saturday. Even though I had a team call I had to prep for. Even though - all the excuses.
I plugged in a podcast that would fuel my spirit and just dug in. It took me 20 minutes to make serious headway. You know what?! I feel better.
Health. Finances. Relationships. It’s all like the laundry. We are never finished. We never arrive at becoming the best versions of ourselves. It all boils down to knowing what we want, then acting on the habits that will keep us moving in the right direction. (The alternative? The habit of avoidance that bring more chaos).
